Who is Mackenzie?

Mackenzie Hoffman is a multi-media artist from Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Art from the University of Mary Washington Magna Cum Laude and is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from George Mason University. She is in her final year this fall with a current GPA of 3.98, expected to graduate Spring 2026.

Highly organized, goal oriented, graduate of George Mason University with a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Currently a Marketing Specialist and Lead Graphic Designer for Student Involvement for Mason. Experience in teaching Graphic Design at the college level. Manages the student social media team, directly under the Marketing Manager and Communications. Creative social media roll outs incorporating university brand identity, encouraging student engagement for campus events. Handled design and social coordination for Student Involvement. Dedicated to creating and continuing campaigns for the 40,000 plus students at Mason. Promoted from Marketing Assistant and Digital Content Creator to Manager within 6 months. Promoted to full time Marketing Specialist and Lead Graphic Designer post grad.

Taught Digital Design Studio, a course intended for students to understand the principles of design and three Adobe Creative Cloud applications: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Previously a Graduate Teaching Assistant from 2024-5.

Created print and marketing materials for the various gallery exhibitions. Created graphics for flyers, signage, postcards and social media posts, with unique visuals to promote 15 + campaigns.

Gallery Intern for UMW Galleries

University of Mary Washington, Fredericksburg, VA

Assisted in the curation and execution of gallery exhibitions. Created promotional materials for shows including flyers, postcards, and social media graphics. This position was a promotion from my previous position for UMW Galleries from 2021-2023 as a Gallery Monitor for Dupont and Riderhoff-Martin Gallery, where I opened, closed, and oversaw the galleries and tracked patronage to the spaces.

President, Founder, and Marketing Coordinator of UMW Lightsaber Duels

University of Mary Washington, Fredericksburg, VA

Founder of a performance dueling club which puts on two shows a year consisting of choreographed fights to music inspired by the Star Wars films. Created promotional campaigns for performance events, fundraising, and collaborations with the university through print materials and social media. Managed students in day-to-day activities and delegations of responsibilities. Created a lasting community from the ground up for club members and the campus at large.
